Congratulations go out to Jessica Compton for being named the most outstanding graduate of 2010 for the Computer Science Department. She started her schooling at SDSU in 2007, majoring in computer science from the start. Jessica is the top student in most of her classes and has made the Dean’s List every year. She is very active in the department, participating in the SDSU’s ACM Computer Club, SDSU’s Programming Competition team, CS Colloquiums, and the Department’s Bit’s & Bites gatherings. If you asked any member of the faculty, they would tell you how hard a worker Jessica is and what a joy it was to have her in their classes. After graduation, Jessica plans to explore various job and internship opportunities and may pursue a doctorate degree.
As the outstanding graduate, Jessica named Alan Riggins as her most influential professor. Alan is one of our top lecturers and has been chosen for this honor in previous semesters. He is dedicated to his students and gives many hours of his time helping them succeed in their courses.
