CS Masters' Thesis Defense

Abstract:
The Punjabi language lesson creator is a project developed with the language acquisition resource center (LARC) and provided by Prof. John Vitaglione. This project was created for students who are interested in learning Punjabi, as taught by weekend volunteers at the Poway Gurudwara center in San Diego for the last few years. This project provides online accessibility for written and oral records that can be used for teaching and learning the language Punjabi and the culture of Punjab. The learning materials are stored in an easily accessible database. Users with different levels of access can add or delete records in the database. Contributors can not only contribute to the lesson plans but also to other aspects of Punjabi culture.

The project is designed primarily for students at Poway Gurudwara, typically children between the ages of 7 and 13 with Punjabi parents, or similar programs. This project can also be used by any other users who are interested in knowing the culture, literature, food, music, dance or language of Punjab.
