Abstract:
Conventional methods of web based learning are an established approach towards teaching outside the classroom. However, teaching foreign language such as Arabic or Hindi using a web based environment offers a daunting task. Clearly, there is a need for effective communication of ideas using the web, and this thesis contributed towards implementing a Web-Based Glossing Tool. This application uses a concept of ‘Hotword’ which is applied to certain words which needs more explanation. The term ‘Hotword’ is used for annotation of text i.e. to describe that text in the form of audio, video, text and image. A ‘Hotword’ proves to be a great medium for simplifying the meaning of tougher words, especially in the case of learning a foreign language. This tool has used the concept of globalization to ensure that the content of the page should change according to the language one wants to reads the text in. This Tool encompasses a methodology for teaching and sharing views in a very effective form.
