CS Masters' Thesis Defense

Title: Website Localization System - Translation and Website Regeneration Component

Abstract:
Customers buy in their own language.? These traditional words of wisdom from the international business community suggest that in 21st Century e-commerce, the localization of websites to multiple languages and cultures is a requirement, not an option. This thesis project comprised the design, coding and testing of a standalone desktop application for browser-independent URL-preserving automated remote website translation/localization based upon the Google Translate API. The demonstration version of the application localizes English-language websites to Spanish and/or Hindi, but is easily extensible to support localization into any of a large number of other languages.
