Abstract:
Steganography is the science that provides method for hiding secret message in a cover medium over a public channel so that only the intended recipient can detect their presence. This work investigates two methods for transmitting secret data:

1) Via raw image files as the cover medium, by modifying the pixel values of the image using the Least Significant Bit Algorithm. Here, the steganography technique is combined with encrypting techniques such as Blowfish, DES, and Vigenere.
2) Via Noisy communication channels with the use of error-correcting codes.
Both methods are compared and Implemented in Perl and Java.
