Abstract:
Analysis of an existing implementation of the Kloosterman sums computation on the TMS3206713 Digital Signal Processor identified a number of performance bottlenecks. This project explored a variety of approaches for mitigating those bottlenecks. While subtle inherent limitations in the DSP’s supporting software precluded the use of software pipelining required by one intuitively appealing optimization approach, several other optimization strategies yielded significant performance gain.
